This is the ultimate Summer Rug for heat of Summer and during hot and humid weather when the biting bugs are at their peak and Summer itch can be a major problem. Some horses do not cope well in these weather conditions and this is the rug for them. It is made with 60% natural cotton/40% Poly blend Flag cloth, woven to the highest standard with a cooling open weave and it is a very lightweight 200gsm. It has been designed to have the greatest breathability cooling and wicking ability out there even compared with any other synthetic sheets. The bright green trim tape is 100% polyester. Comes with matching tail bag and nose flap.

The rug/sheet comes standard with matching flag cloth ear protection, which are easily removed if not wanted but cutting out. I also comes with a Euromesh nose flap, which is available at a special price when purchased with the rug. The Hood nose area is fitted with an easy to attach/detach Velcro strap which makes the fitting of a nose flap a breeze. There is also fleece lining on the underside of the nose area.

The Hood is satin lined at the mane and also comes with an adjustable neck strap fitted at the Poll with strong side release clips to help prevent the hood from falling forward over the head. The hood rug is also fitted with convenient, adjustable and durable side release clips on the neck.

Due to its special open weave and lightweight properties, this rug/sheet it is not suitable to be worn out in large open pastures or in larger turnout paddocks that have objects like trees, posts, barb wire fencing, that can catch and/or easily tear the fabric as it is more easily damaged compared to our other summer woven fabrics.

This rug is perfect for that 'itchy' horse that will tear itself apart unless protected in a small turnout pen or yard during the day, covered from head to foot and constantly sprayed from head to foot with repellent. We all know this type of horse...there is always a sensitive itch prone one out there, no matter what they are fed, the one that needs this extra special care.

NB: Because of the Hight cotton fibre content of the base fabric it is important that the rug receives special care when washing to avoid shrinkage. DO NOT use Hot water when washing and carefully soak overnight after using a stain remover. Hand wash only in a mild temperature with a wool wash to ensure its longevity and good care. We suggest you use a good fabric conditioner and add some bug repellent drops/essential oils like Eucalyptus, Citronella or Cedar Oil to help discourage flies and bugs pestering your horse.
